Understanding the Yogic Path

Have You Been Moving Too Fast to Hear Yourself?

Most of us, who are interested in Yoga, spend years collecting practices without ever understanding how they connect. We move through postures the way we move through our days – efficiently, automatically, on the surface of what is possible. The Week One: Foundations of Yoga -based on the practice written thousands of years ago – goes deeper than that.
It is a complete and coherent system to know who you are, where you are going, and what you are here for. On a physical level, in daily life, in the way you think and react and relate.

What This Week Is

The Week One: Foundations of Yoga is where the entire yogic path begins. With understanding what Yoga actually is — and more precisely, what it does to you.

Life at Arcana

There is a particular quality to time here. It slows down in the best way.
Your mornings begin in the shala as the island wakes around you. Afternoons open up — rest by the saltwater pool, take a treatment at the spa, sit in the sauna, sink into the ice bath, or do nothing at all. As the day closes, an optional sunset trip to the coast. Then the natural flow of an Arcana evening — live music, community, and the kind of rest that actually restores.
This week blends deep inner work with joy, music, celebration, and genuine community. It is as uplifting as it is restorative.

When the Body Opens, the Mind Softens

Physical tension often acts as silent armor for the subconscious – holding stress that the mind cannot yet process. As we work through the body, releasing breath and lengthening muscle, that protective bracing begins to dissolve. In this space of physical opening, the rigid patterns of the ego follow. A body that is fluid and grounded naturally invites a mind that is receptive, yielding, and ready.

Through movement, the negative thoughts that have accumulated over years begin to loosen. This is the science of Yoga – and in a matter of one week’s practice, you get to experience it too.

About Your Teachers

Yogita has been teaching Yoga for 19 years and leading Teacher Training courses for 16 – across Thailand, India, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, and Europe. Her foundation is 20 years of Classic Yoga practice, and her teaching is built on one conviction: that real change happens when you feel the practice in your own body, not when you understand it in your head.

Who This Is For

This week is designed for anyone who feels the pull toward a deeper practice – whether you are relatively new to Yoga or returning after years of life getting in the way.
It is for people who want to heal without waiting for a crisis. Who want to balance the emotional and mental demands of life through practice rather than prescription. Who sense there is a version of themselves they have not yet reached, and want a system that actually gets them there.
No prior knowledge is required, only genuine curiosity and a willingness to follow the practice.
Participants must be 18 or older and inform us of any health conditions prior to booking.

You can join one week, two, three, or all four – in sequence or across separate visits. Each week stands on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior yoga experience?

No. The program is designed to meet you where you are. Students new to yoga and those with years of practice attend the same week and both find it challenging and rewarding.

Each day moves through a blend of asana, meditation, and philosophy – taught by Yogita with decades of experience in the classical Hatha Yoga tradition. The teaching is designed so that you apply what you learn in the same moment you are learning it. The change does not happen later. It begins in the room, on the mat, in the breath between one posture and the next. Think of it as a recipe. Follow it precisely and the result is consistent. In a matter of time – not years, not decades – you feel it.

Arcana Wellness Village is a conscious living sanctuary on the island of Koh Phangan. Three spacious yoga shalas, a saltwater pool, spa, sauna, ice bath, cold plunge, natural pool, gym, and a vegan and vegetarian restaurant – all set within a landscape of tropical beauty. It is built for exactly this kind of week.

Arcana offers several room types to suit different budgets and preferences – all within the sanctuary grounds and all including full access to the wellness facilities.
All room types include access to the saltwater pool, gym, spa facilities, sauna, ice bath, steam room, hot onsen, and natural pool. Breakfast is included with all rooms except the dormitory.
